Robert Soogea Giving the WPTDeepStacks a Shot After High Roller Victory

Last year Robert Soogea entered the €6,000 WPT Amsterdam High Roller and won it for a cool €150,000, by far the highest live cash of his career.

Today, Soogea is again at Holland Casino and is seated in the WPTDeepstacks Day 1A.

“It’s nice to be here,” he said, “I love it here. It’s like a home game with all the Dutch players.  I know everybody, all the Dutch players.”

Poker players aim to win any tournaments, not just High Rollers, and Soogea said that his win came as a shock.

“Lots of poker players dream to win a High Roller or even a tournament. I mean I’m an amateur! I’m not one of those great players who play High Rollers!

“I haven’t played for a long time, and I’m not always playing, but when I feel like playing I play.

We asked Soogea whether he felt like he could win another WPT Amsterdam High Roller.

“It would be crazy, but I’m not thinking about that yet. Lets see what happens today, and tomorrow, and we’ll get there eventually!”
