Rod Batoz was second in chips at the break, and he passed along the details of the recent hand that catapulted him into that spot.

A player limped from middle position, and Batoz raised to 5,200 from the button. The small blind reraised to 25,000, and Anban Subramoney moved all in from the big blind.

The middle-position player folded, Batoz called all in for about 90,000, and the small blind called all in for less than that. These were their cards in descending order of chip stacks:

Anban Subramoney:  X KX K
Rod Batoz:  X AX A
Small Blind:  X AX K

Batoz was in excellent position, and the board came clean for his aces to hold up and scoop the entire pot, doubling thru Subramoney and eliminating the player in the small blind from the tournament.

These are their current counts during this level:

Rod Batoz  –  269,000  (135 bb)
Anban Subramoney  –  80,000  (40 bb)
