With the blinds still at 10,000-15,000, after a flop of Spade JSpade 7Spade 4, Ron Hunt (cutoff) and Huifang Zhang (UTG+1) get it all in, and they both turn over aces.

Ron Hunt:  Spade ADiamond A

As you can see, Hunt has the ace of spades, and is freerolling to catch a spade to win the entire pot. Otherwise, it’ll be a chop.

Aces vs. Aces with four spades on the board.

The turn card is — the Spade 2.

The meaningless river card is the Heart 4, and Hunt won the pot to double up to 325,000 in chips. Zhang took the worst of it, dropping down to just 70,000.

Three hands later, the player in the hijack limps for 15,000, Zhang completes the small blind, and the big blind checks.

The flop comes Club AClub 6Club 3, and Zhang gets it all in for 50,000 with Spade ADiamond 6 for two pair, aces and sixes. She needs it to hold to stay alive against the Spade QClub J (flush draw) of the player in the hijack.

The turn card is the Spade 9, the river card is the Diamond 7, and Zhang wins the pot to double up in chips.

The blinds have since increased to 10,000-20,000, and Zhang is still trying to make a comeback. She has survived at least one pay jump, and she still has a similar stack.
