Sam Soverel vs. Joey Smith

Nov 21, 2011

With around 120,000 in the pot and the board reading [8d7c4h3h], Sam Soverel checks from the small blind and Joey Smith bets 42,000 from middle position.

Smith calls, then both players check when the river brings the [10d].

Soverel shows [6h7d] for a pair of sevens, which is good enough to take the pot. Smith asks him, "You call if I shove?"  Soverel shakes his head no.

"I play bad," Smith remarks.  As Soverel stacks his chips, he changes his mind, telling Smith, "I probably would’ve called."

Sam Soverel – 890,000 (148 BBs)
Joey Smith – 145,000 (24 BBs)
