Scott Vener Four-Bets with Kings

Scott Vener raises under the gun, another player calls, and the player in the big blind reraises to 12,000. Vener moves all in for 54,600, and the next player folds.

The player in the big blind goes into the tank for a long time, and eventually asks if Vener will show his cards.

Vener smiles and says, “Sure. Just put it all in, and I’ll show.

The big blind gets more specific, asking if Vener will show his cards if he folds. Vener says that he’ll show if the big blind folds face up.

The big blind thinks a bit more before he folds, showing . Vener turns over , taking the pot without further risk.

The big blind is torn about the possibility of whether or not he’d catch an ace, and against the dealer’s wishes, somebody pulls up two of the cards that would have hit the flop — and one of them was an ace.
