What started as an extended layover ended up in a WPT victory for Alex Kuzmin. The Russian popped in to Biloxi on the way back to Europe and decided it might be fun to play in the Southern Poker Championship. The quick stop proved to be a profitable one for Kuzmin, as he squashed Allen Carter’s attempt to be the first player to win the same WPT event twice. Instead, it was Kuzmin who ended up on top, picking up $575,969 in the process.
