Seat 3: Alex Perelberg

Apr 8, 2009

Seat 3
Alex Perelberg
212,000 (5th in chips, 9 big blinds)

Alex Perelberg is the 43-year-old rookie at the final table, playing in his first major tournament. This former software developer has been a trader for the last 18 years, and earned his entry into the event through a $2,200 satellite — and he’s made the most of it.

Perelberg, who holds an MBA from Stanford University, was born in the former Soviet Union (in what is now the Republic of Moldova in Eastern Europe), grew up in Houston, TX, and now lives here in Connecticut — a local boy?

As the short stack (by a large margin), Perelberg will need all the support his wife Linda can muster from the stands if he’s going to double early and have a chance at the top prize.
