Talal Shakerchi has just brought Jean-Noel Thorel’s revival to a trickle…or did Thorel do that to himself?
We have been told that Thorel called a couple of big bets from Shakerchi on a board of [Jc] [9c] [6c] [8s] [6s] thinking he was holding [Kc] [2c], when in fact he had [Kd] [2d].
Then he lost the following hand.
Thorel opens to 3,000, in the cutoff, and Shakerchi defends the big blind. The action checks through to fourth street on a board of [7d] [6c] [2s] [5h] and Thorel calls a 4,500 Shakerchi bet. The final card is the [4c] and Thorel folds to a 6,500 Shakerchi bet.
Shakerchi ~ 290,000
Thorel ~ 37,000
