WPT sponsor Skrill, a digital wallet payment processor, hosted a free last-longer bonus prize for players in the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown.
In order to participate, players needed to stop by the Skrill table outside the tournament area on Day 1 to sign up for a Skrill account (or verify their existing account) and pick up a patch to wear during the tournament.
The last remaining player in the tournament who has worn their Skrill patch the entire time will receive their buy-in back — $3,500.
There were three Skrill-patched players who survived to the final 18 players who made Day 4, but with Cornel Cimpan’s elimination in 17th place and Travis Northrope’s elimination in 14th, that left Shawn Nguyen (pictured) as the last Skrill-patched player in the tournament.
Nguyen receives his buy-in back ($3,500), and now he’s trying to become the third Skrill-patched player this season to win a WPT title.
Congratulations to Shawn Nguyen!
