Smith Rivers Two-Outer, Doubles Thru Silverman

Dec 10, 2013

Steven Silverman raises to 38,000 from middle position and it folds to Dan Smith on the button who reraises to 92,000. The blinds fold, then Silverman asks Smith how much he has left behind. Smith counts out his chips and tells Silverman he has exactly 389,000 left.

Silverman then reraises all in, and after a short bit of thought and one last recheck of his cards, Smith calls.

Silverman tables [Ks][Kd] and Smith [10d][10h], and after the [3c][4d][2d] flop and [Qs] turn it appears as though Smith is about to become the 16th-place finisher. But the [10s] falls on fifth street to give Smith a winning set, and he keeps his seat.

"Good hand," says Silverman to Smith and both grin at the whims of fortune. Smith is now right at the 1 million-chip mark while Silverman tumbles to about 10 big blinds.

Dan Smith – 1,002,000 (63 bb)
Steven Silverman – 160,000 (10 bb)
