Welcome to Day 4 of the Season XVI WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open. There are just 27 players remaining from the field of 1,244, and those 27 are fighting for a spot at the six-handed final table. Leading the way by a slight margin is Steven Greenberg with a stack of 3.753 million, and he’s narrowly edged out Chase Bianchi’s 3.698 million for the lead.
The final 27 players have locked up a minimum payday of $19,347, and a trip to the official WPT final table is worth $138,254. The top finisher will earn $651,928, including a seat into the season-ending WPT Tournament of Champions.
In addition to Greenberg and Bianchi, plenty of notable faces have reached this point in the tournament. WPT Champions Club members David Paredes (1.5 million), Eric Afriat (1.123 million), Jonathan Little (1.1 million), and Kevin Saul (940,000) have advanced to Day 4. Paredes has a WPT title from Borgata, winning the Season XIV WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship, and a former second-place finish in the Season XII WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open Championship.
Also remaining in the field is former WSOP Main Event champion Joe McKeehen, who brings 1.185 million to Day 4. McKeehen has just one prior WPT Main Tour final table, but it did come at Borgata in Season XIV.
Day 4 will see the cards in the air at 12 p.m. local time from Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, and the plan is to play down until the official WPT final table of six is reached.
