Jack McClelland has had a storied career as a tournament director, working for the WSOP before moving over to the Bellagio. McClelland has even been nominated for the Poker Hall of Fame.
McClelland was the tournament director for the first ever WPT event back in 2002 — and it was this very event, the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic. (Though it was held in May of that year, nearly a full year before Chris Moneymaker won the WSOP.)
McClelland has been a big part of the World Poker Tour family over the past 12 years, overseeing some of the largest and most high-profile events in WPT history. We wish him all the best going forward!
