The "Berlin Boys" Are on Board

Jan 10, 2018

Paul Michaelis won a bracelet in Las Vegas while another player from Berlin calls the Spielbank his home casino and scored the biggest result of his career in the Sternberg Theater.

They both sat down within a few minutes on neighboring tables and Michaelis witnessed a bigger three-way pot being played out between Victor Ilyukhin and Aleksandar Tomovic. Ilyukhin’s raise was called by another player from one seat over and Tomovic in the hijack three-bet to 1,700, picking up two calls.

On the Club AHeart 10Diamond 8 flop, action checked to Tomovic and his continuation bet of 1,700 was called by both opponents. All three players opted to check the Heart 6 turn, before the Diamond 5 river was once more checked to Tomovic. A bet of 7,125 did the trick for the Serbian to claim the pot uncontested.

“Show one!” Michaelis demanded and Tomovic flashed the Club 5.

Aleksandar Tomovic – 35,000
Victor Ilyukhin – 33,000
Paul Michaelis – 30,000
Peter Siemund – 30,000
