The Bubble Bursts Before It Even Begins

The bubble was breached before hand to hand action could ensue and this is what we managed to grasp from the action.

Oliver Nilsson and Franck Boyer were both embroiled in a hand on a flop of [Th] [9h] [7h] that ended up in an almighty tussle. Both players were all-in meaning that one of them was going to be out and the other was going to thrown into contention for the title. When the cards were turned over there wasn’t a heart in sight but Nilsson had the lead because his [Js] [8s] had made a straight; Boyer on the other hand had flopped middle set with [9s] [9d].

Everyone flew around the table hoping and praying that one of them was going to be eliminated. The dealer gave us the [2s] on the turn and we were one card away from a possible Franck Boyer exit. The dealer peeled over the [2h] on the river sending Nilsson into a rage. He kicked his chair before heading over to the rail. Boyer looked stunned and just sat in his seat. After the dealer counted both stacks he confirmed that Nilsson had been eliminated and in true good sportsmanship Nilsson returned to shake the hand of his conqueror.

We turned around to write the hand up and the Tournament Director had called a halt to proceedings because David Prince had also been eliminated while everyone was focussed on the Nilsson/Boyer battle.

So all that excitement brings a halt to the Day Two proceedings.
