Last month, Noah Schwartz’s run at Alpha8 Bellagio was bittersweet. He made his way to the final table of the largest Alpha8 in history, only to come up short of the title in fourth place.
Today, though, was Noah Schwartz’s day. He came into the action with a 3:2 chip lead and proceeded to whittle away at his opponent Jake Schindler until his young opponent was left with one move–all-in. Though Schindler managed to double up once, Schwartz was able to thwart Schindler’s second attempt to double his stack, ending the match and taking the title.
Schwartz earns $585,000 for the win, the only payday in this winner-take-all event. In addition to the money, he also takes home the Alpha8 trophy, a gold pair of Monster 24K headphones, and a Hublot King Power Unico titanium watch.
Most importantly though, Schwartz etches his name in the history books as the only player in World Poker Tour history to win both WPT and Alpha8 titles, both of which have come in his home state of Florida.
It was a small but tough field and Schwartz managed to navigate his way as the elder statesmen of the table, proving what his shirt he wore today says: The Schwartz was with him today.
