Three Players Bust on the Same Hand

Feb 24, 2009

Paul Smith moves all in preflop from middle position for 17,000, Ray Qurtomy calls all in from late position for 7,000, and Alberto Cerdiero calls from the cutoff.

Then Mark Bryan reraises from one of the blinds to 60,000, Cerdiero moves all in for 110,000, and Bryan calls. There are now four players all in, and Mark Bryan is the big stack. Here are their hands in descending chip count order:

Mark Bryan:  [AdAs]
Alberto Cerdiero:  [JdJh]
Paul Smith:  [8c8d]
Ray Qurtomy:  [KsQs]

The board comes [3d2c2s7h10h].

With four players in the pot, nobody hits anything. Of course, that’s exactly what Mark Bryan wants with his pocket aces. He wins the entire pot, busting the other three players:

Mark Bryan  –  200,000
Albert Cerdiero  –  Out in ~58th Place ($23,052)
Paul Smith  –  Out in ~59th Place ($23,052)
Ray Qurtomy  –  Out in ~60th Place ($23,052)

The places are approximate until the casino catches up and lets us know officially who finished where.
