Wiedemann Bluffs With the Best of It

Nov 21, 2011

Matt Ezrol raises to 22,000 from middle position and Barry Wiedemann defends the big blind.  The flop comes [Jc8s5d] and Wiedemann checks.  Ezrol bets 23,000 and Wiedemann calls.

The turn is the [8h] and both players check.  The river is the [8d] and Wiedemann bets 45,000.  Ezrol thinks a minute, then calls. Wiedemann taps the table, indicating Ezrol has the best hand.  Ezrol hesitates and doesn’t show his cards.

"King high," Wiedemann says.  He doesn’t turn over his hand.  Ezrol raises an eyebrow, indicating king-high might be good.  Wiedemann turns over [KcQh] and Ezrol mucks, giving Wiedemann the pot.

Barry Wiedemann – 495,000 (50 BBs)
Matt Ezrol – 1,195,000 (120 BBs)
