William Brown raises to 6,500 from middle position and Jason Koon reraises to 14,400 on the button. The player in the small blind moves all-in for 21,400 and Brown calls. Koon clarifies the action, thinks a minute, then calls as well.
Koon and Brown check it down as the board runs out [7s5s5d3s6d] and the dealer announces that she needs to see all three hands since a player is all-in. The player in the small blind turns over [AdKh] and Brown reveals he has the same holdings with [AhKd].
Koon tries to muck, but the dealer flips up his hand, which is [Jc9c]. Koon asks for clarification on the rule so he knows for the future and Tournament Director Mat Savage comes over and confirms that if a player is all-in all hands must be turned face up at showdown.
Even though Brown and the short stacked player chop the pot, the extra chips Brown picks up from Koon are enough to push him past the 400,000-mark.
William Brown – 415,000
Jason Koon – 80,000
