William Kassouf Shoves the Turn, Talks His Way Thru

After a flop of Spade JHeart 3Heart 2, Cody Slaubaugh checks from the hijack, and the player in the cutoff bets 11,000. William Kassouf calls, and Slaubaugh calls.

The turn card is the Club 5, and it checks to Kassouf, who asks the dealer to spread the pot so he can see all the blue (5K) chips. Kassouf is talking his way thru his thought process, as he often does, and addresses much of it to Scotty Nguyen, who isn’t in the hand but is seated on the far side of the dealer. Kassouf moves all in for 71,500.

Slaubaugh folds, and the player in the cutoff stops to think. Kassouf asks, “Can you beat jack-ten?” Not much reaction. Kassouf continues to talk, and the cutoff eventually folds.

Kassouf says, “We got it thru! The speech got it thru, Scotty!”

Another player says he won’t be able to show a bluff there, and Kassouf says he may have been semi-bluffing, and he might have improved on the turn. Regardless, Kassouf takes the pot.
