Seat 1: Emil Olssen – 2,208,000 (138BB) – Sweden
By the time the WPT Final Table set has been built, the man with the majority of the chips has generally had a stack, worthy of note, from start to finish. Not so Emil Olssen, who finished Day 1B with less than starting stack (29,300).
He first grabbed our attention on Day 2 when he became responsible for the demise of the then dominating chip leader Andre Petrovic. Olssen got under his skin and by the end of the day Petrovic imploded. Olssen has played a great game ever since and arrives at the final table with a substantial chip lead, after eliminating one of the favourites for the title Jimmy Jonsson; a fact that Olssen is very proud of.
Olssen has been a professional poker player for five-years and this is his first-ever live cash, at his first-ever WPT event. His favourite hand is the knee trembling pocket aces, and his favourite poker player is online sensation Eisenhower1.
Seat 2: Stanislav Barshak – 1,597,000 (100BB) – USA
Stanislav Barshak is a 24-year old professional poker player hailing from the USA. Barshak has been playing poker professionally for two-years after majoring in Marketing and International Business at the University of Illinois. Barshak is a well-respected name in the online game and counts a WCOOP title amongst his many accolades. Barshak resides in Costa Rica and qualified for this event whilst playing on PartyPoker. Not a bad return for a $375 investment.
Just like Olssen, Barshak finished Day 1A with just under starting stack (28,100) and didn’t really turn into a blip on our radar until late on during three; a day that Barshak would go on to lead with 830,000 chips. Barshak suffered a minor setback when he lost a crucial flip against Robin Ylitalo during the penultimate day, but went on to eliminate the dangerous Frei Dilling Kjaer in the final hand of the day to finish second in chips.
This is Barshak’s first WPT final table after finishing as the final table bubble boy at the WPT Hollywood Open in 2011.
Seat 3: Robin Ylitalo – 934,000 (58BB) – Sweden
Robin Ylitalo is a 26-year old professional poker player from Sweden and he is in love. Well that’s what he told us on his player info sheet anyway!
Ylitalo has been playing professionally for six years and this is his third WPT event. His biggest cash to date is $130,000, which he secured online and he made the final table of EPT Campione in March where he finished in eighth place for a $71,629 score.
Ylitalo, who prefers to play Pot Limit Omaha (PLO), has been this tournaments king of the flips. His preferred mode of execution has been ace-queen and the taco loving golf enthusiast will be hoping that continues all the way until the bitter end.
Seat 4: Philip Jacobsen – 742,000 (46BB) – Denmark
One of two homegrown players, Philip Jacobsen has been ice cool at the tables during this event. The 26-year old professional poker player has been in the game for three years after playing professional golf for five years before that.
Jacobsen’s greatest achievement to date is when he won two events at the Malmo Autumn Poker Week in 2010 for a combined score of over $60,000. This is his third WPT event and his first major final table after bubbling EPT Deauville in 2011.
Seat 5: Jan Djerberg – 824,000 (52BB) – Denmark
At 54-years of age, Jan Djerberg, is the most experienced of our final table combatants. He has been playing poker for five years and has spent the past 35-years working in the import and export business.
Djerberg learned to play poker online, but his biggest cash to date was a fifth place finish in the 2011 Danish Championships. Djerberg took home $34,241 for that final table appearance.
When Djerberg is not playing poker he is listening to his favourite band Deep Purple. Djerberg will be hoping to be the ‘Speed King’ of the final table where he will leap "Into the Fire’ and blaze a trail like a ‘Fireball’ leaving the rest of the players in a state of ‘Hush.’
Seat 6: Morten Klein – 568,000 (36BB) – Norway
Morten Klein is the kind of man that you hope isn’t the father of your first girlfriend. You know the type, the type that can break you in two with a click of his fingers. He has a great table presence and is coolness personified with his pressed slacks, polished shoes and expensive looking shades.
43-year old Klein has been playing poker all of his life and his favourite poker player is the legendary Thor Hansen. Klein is married, has three children and when he is not playing poker he is the owner of a successful gambling company.
Klein likes to relax by listening to music by The Eagles and his favourite hand is pocket kings.
The final table will commence at 12:00 (local time). You can catch the event either here on the live updates page, or via the live stream with commentary from The Voice of Poker: Jesse May.
