Today marks the final day of the WPT Korea Championship, as the last 6 players take their seats at the final table. Japanese player Takeo Kimura was the first to be eliminated today, taking home KRW 55,000,000. Despite his elimination, Kimura showed exceptional sportsmanship, perfectly embodying the true spirit and camaraderie of poker.
Deep-stacked player Yong Li was eliminated in a dramatic showdown with Dong Li, securing 5th place and a prize of KRW 80,000,000. Meanwhile, Lin Baojie, despite being one of the shortest stacks at the table, displayed remarkable resilience and skill, fighting his way to a 4th place finish and taking home KRW 110,000,000.
Despite holding the largest stack, Dong Li’s fortunes took a turn as he lost chips in intense deep-stack battles with Miao. In a dramatic final hand, Li Dong limped with pocket Aces from the button, attempting to trap, while Miao defended his big blind with 4-6 suited. The two players engaged in a strategic post-flop battle, eventually leading to an all-in confrontation. In a thrilling twist, Miao hit a straight on the river, overtaking Li Dong, who ultimately finished in 3rd place, taking home KRW 150,000,000.
The battle for the championship was nothing short of dramatic. Miao emerged as the player of the day, making a key move in the decisive hand. With pocket fours, Miao went all-in against Guan Dingding’s pocket Jacks. The flop brought a 4, giving Miao a set and securing the pot. Guan Dingding finished as the runner-up, taking home KRW 200,000,000, while Miao Chenxiang claimed the title and an impressive KRW 300,000,000 to wrap up and roll down the curtain of WPT Korea Championship.
