WPTDeepStacks Attracts Players from as Far Away as Japan

On every one of the WPTDeepStack stops we see players who are combining their passion for the game of poker with their love of travelling, and Vilamoura is no exception.

In the Main Event field we spotted Japanese players Katsuhiro Muto and Hideki Takafuji who traveled to Vilamorua just for the WPTDS festival.

Takafuji played in Day 1A yesterday, but didn’t manage to make it through to Day 2 then.

“I was running bad,” Takafuji told us, “But today things are a little better.”

Both Takafuji and Muto said that they are enjoying their visit to Vilamoura.

“Everyone has been very nice to us,” said a smiling Takafuji, “Very friendly!

“The weather has been very good. We have been to the beach.”

Stay tuned to WPT.com for all the action, and to see whether Muto or Takafuji – or even both manage to make it through to Day 2 and a deep run in the WPTDS Main Event.
