Yaiche Gets Caught On The River

An older gentleman raises to 750 in first position, the cutoff calls as does Basil Yaiche in the big blind. The flop leaves the dealers hand and lies on the flop looking like this – [Js] [8c] [5h] and everyone checks. The turn is the [Ks] and Yaiche checks to the initial raiser and he bets 1,200. The player in the cutoff folds and Yaiche check-raises to 3,500 and the raiser makes a quick call. The river is the [9c] and Yaiche bets 5,500 but his opponent dumps 15,000 into the pot with super-quick speed. This produces a bout of laughter from Yaiche before he folds his hand. His opponent shows him the [Qd] [Ts].
