Day 1B of the WPTDeepStacks Brussels Main Event attracted a total of 215 entrants and just 61 will be advancing to Day 2. They join the 36 who advanced from Day 1A and will be joined by those advancing from the Turbo Day 1C flight which will finish later tonight.
Leading the 61 is Youssef Hammas with a stunning 355,400. Close being him is Sylvain Naets with 311,200. These players eclipse the 221,000 mark set by Menny Ben-Haim from Day 1A.
Other big names advancing to Day 2 include Jean Montury (119,000), Tobias Peters (182,700), WPTDS Brussels High Roller winner Heinrich Pauker (68,200), Jerome Sgorrano (136,900), Raoul Refos (108,000) and Gregory Janin (28,900).
The day was already off to a big start before Player of the Year leader Omar Lakhdari, and other players who yesterday were busy in the High Roller, joined the field. Lakhdari fired twice today but was unfortunate to not make it through.
Among those unlucky to not make it through to Day 2 were former WPT Champion Guillaume Darcourt and three-time Belgian bracelet winner Michael Gathy.
All those who didn’t make it through Day 1B have the opportunity to play the Turbo Day 1C which currently has 51 entrants.
